NFL Futures Odds Update

Super Bowl 50 Odds Update for Week 16 of the 2015-16 NFL Season

Following an absolute nail biter last week, the Carolina Panthers head for their Week 16 tilt in Atlanta looking hungry. Not only that, they’re still looking as dominant as ever. There are a few good matchup in the coming weekend though, not just the undefeated’s against the under performers (aka Carolina vs. Atlanta).

The Jets are hosting the Patriots, while the Chiefs are hosting Cleveland. No, the Browns in Kansas is not a marquee game, but the schedule gods are clearly shining on KC this week. With the win, they could all but lock up a Wild Card spot in the AFC. New York is currently on the outside looking in with a matching 9-5 record. KC holds the keys to their own destiny in the final two weeks of the season.

Meanwhile in the NFC, the Redskins hold the sacred keys to their playoff hopes. The NFC East has been well documented as the worst division in the conference and Washington this week can lock up said division with a win over Philadelphia.

NFL Week 16 odds update – Win and you’re in!

AFC Game of the Week – New England Patriots (-3) vs. New York Jets (+3)

The Jets dropped their first opportunity to knock off their division rivals earlier in the year at Foxboro. This time around though, momentum should be on their side. The Pats have been winning games, but they’ve been doing it with a banged up roster. They’re missing two of their top running backs, tight end Rob Gronkowski is still out and the receiving core is also ailing in this, the home stretch.

The Jets meanwhile, are trending upward. They’re coming off a big win last week in Dallas and the team now needs to go undefeated over the final two weeks to have a shot at the playoffs. As mentioned, Kansas City currently holds the last playoff spot in the AFC and has a matching 9-5 record. Not to mention, they have Cleveland this weekend, which is basically a pre-determined win. If the Jets have a big week though, they can potentially pull it off. That of course though, is if their defense shows up to trip up the dinged up Pats.

NFC Game of the Week – Washington Redskins (+3) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (-3)

The Washington Redskins can clinch a Wild Card spot with a win over division rival Philly this Sunday. The Skins lead the division at 7-7, with the Eagles not far behind at 6-8. If Philadelphia can sort out their inconsistencies and pull off a win at home, they can stay alive in the hunt for the postseason.

Meanwhile, the New York Giants are also 6-8 and still have a chance at the post season as well. Only thing is, their head to head record with both Washington and Philly, won’t do them any favors. Best case scenario for the G-men, is the Eagles win, then Washington and Philly both lose next week while they win out. The Giants have a date with the 9-5 Minnesota Vikings this weekend, who could also lock up a playoff spot with a victory, but they’ll be taking on the Vikes without suspended star receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

The entire NFL playoff picture could be all locked up following Week 16. Week 17 would then basically become an exhibition week, where everybody plays their second and third stringers.
